Hi Beloved Friends!
It's time for our bi-monthly update and this month is all about our transitions. We believe God is good and we believe your prayers can make a world of difference! Read on!

I, Phil, was laid off indefinitely due to church finances on July 16, 2020. We talked to God about it and after reflection, Melanie and I agreed that we needed to relocate as our Church Council has communicated that "having a full time pastor's position is no longer viable" for Cambridge Street Baptist Church.

As such, in faith, we have listed our home for sale as local employment is limited. We've been busy with house showings and navigating our new realities. We don't know our next steps yet, although we are casting our nets wide and considering our options. Short-term we are intending to move into temporary housing with or closer to Melanie's family until we can find sustainable employment.
Furthermore, as a result of this transition, Melanie has given her resignation at the Kawartha Lakes Pregnancy Centre who are graciously keeping her on as their Executive Director until we confirm our next steps. Our church family, CBOQ denominational family, our Lindsay churches, wider community, and our family and friends have been very kind to us as we find ourselves navigating the Covid-19 maze. We'll be ok as we take this a step at a time. We believe God is good even when the future is "foggy."
In June I made a video for our church for their 157th anniversary that gives small highlights of the ministry at the church. What is more pertinent, is the sound track by the Gaither's, entitled "Because He Lives." If that song is new to you the chorus has these lyrics:
Because He lives [God]
I can face tomorrow
Because He lives
All fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives
That is our prayer and reality. We'll keep you posted as we confirm our next steps. But for now, enjoy this under 4 minute video and join me in thanking God for His church!
With much love for your prayers and support,
Phil, Melanie, Jonathan, and David Styles
